Don Barden originally funded the project but has recently stated he could not afford to continue the construction work. Several other buyers have stepped in to fund the programme but before work continues they must get authorization from the Pennsylvania gaming control board.
The gaming board is are still reviewing the financial documents, after a deal between Barden and Neil Bluham was stuck last week. The casino has already begun being built and is await the all clear for construction to continue. However due to the finical complexities the deal the project could well be stop all together. Pittsburgh has fast become renowned for is casinos and this prospective crown casino would be the largest in the area.
